TOMBOY CAP

 

MATERIALS:  any 4-ply worsted weight yarn ‘H’ hook, OR ANY SIZE HOOK WHICH WILL RESULT IN STITCH GAUGE

GAUGE: 4 sts = 1 inch

NOTE: Work the entire Cap in the back loops of each sc

CROWN
1st ROUND: Ch 4, join, ch 3" work 15 dc in ring, do not join. Place a marker at beg of each round.
2nd ROUND: * Skip 1 st, 5 sc in next st. repeat from * to * all around (8 inc points).
3rd ROUND: Skip 1 st, *1 s c in next st, 5 s c in next st. 1 s c in next st. skip 2 sc*; repeat from * to *all around.
4th ROUND: * 1 s c in each of next 2 sts, 5 sc in next st. 1 s c in next st. skip 2 sc*; repeat from * to *all around.
5th ROUND: * 1 s c in each at next 3 sts, 5 s c in next st. 1 s c in each of next 3 sts, skip 2 sts, repeat from * all around.
6th -12th ROUNDS: Same manner as 5th round having 1 more st between points in each round.
13th ROUND: •Work sc dec, * 1 s c in each of next 9 sts. 3 sc in next st. 1 sc in each of next 9 sts, work sc dec, skip 2 sts*, repeat from • to * all around
14th ROUND: Work sc dec, * 1 s c in each of next 8 sts. 3 sc in next st. 1 sc in each of next 8 sts, work sc dec, skip 2 sts*, repeat from • to * all around
15th ROUND: Work sc dec, * 1 s c in each of next 15 sts, (no inc at points), sc dec, skip 2 sts*, repeat from • to * all around
16th ROUND: Work sc dec, * 1 sc in each of next 11 sts, sc dec, skip 2 sts*, repeat from • to * all around
17th ROUND: Work sc dec, * 1 sc in each of next 7 sts, sc dec, skip 2 sts*, repeat from • to * all around
18th ROUND: *1 sc in each of the next 7 sts, skip 2 sts*; repeat from * to * all around. 
19th, 20th and 21st ROUNDS: Work 1 sc in each sc, cut yarn.
PEAK:
RIGHT SIDE:
1st ROW: With right side facing, working into front loop of sts only, attach yarn in 4th sc before any dec point, sc in same space. 1 s c in each of the next 8 sts, cut yarn (4 sts each side of dec point with 1 sc at dec point). Do not turn at end of rows of peak.
2nd ROW: Attach yarn in 2 sts before 1 st s c of peak, working in front loop of sts at the beginning and ending of rows of Cap throughout, 2 sc in same sp, 1 sc in next sc, working into back loop of sts across peak sts throughout, 1 sc in each of the 9 sc of 1st row of peak, 1 sc in next sc, 2 s c in next sc, cut yarn.
3rd ROW: Attach yarn in 2 sts before 1st sc of previous row, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next s c, 1 s c in each sc of peak, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, cut yarn.
 4th and 5th ROWS: Attach yarn in sc before 1st sc of previous row of peak, 3 sc in same space, 1 sc in each sc of peak, 3 sc in next sc, cut yarn.
6th ROW: Attach yarn in 2 sts before 1st sc of previous row, sc in same space; skip next sc, 1 sc
in each sc of peak, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc, cut yarn.

LEFT SIDE:
With wrong sides of peak together, attach yarn in 1st free loop at base of 1st row of peak, 1 s c in each remaining free loop of peak, cut yarn. Work 4 more rows of peak same as right side but work through both loops of sts.
6th ROW: Same as right side but attach in st before 1st sc, complete row.
7th ROW: Work in sc, attaching yarn in 1st sc of peak, cut yarn.

FINISHING: With right side facing attach yarn and sl st both sections of peak together, working through back loop of sts. Continue all around Cap with a sl st join, cut yarn.

CROCHET EVERY WAY WRAP
Skill Level: Easy
Size: Approx 19” X 60”

Materials: 24-28 ozs any medium worsted weight yarn ‘J’ hook Yarn Needle Stitch Markers

Gauge: 3 V-sts + 3rows= 2”

Abbreviations: ch-chain sp-space sc-single crochet dc-double crochet
Beg V-st-(ch3, dc in the same sp) V-st-(dc, ch1, dc) in the ch1-sp

Note: You can adjust the width/length to your desired size by adding/deleting the beginning chs (in a multiple of 3), and by shortening/lengthen rows

Wrap:
Row 1: Ch 79, dc in the 4th ch from the hook, (skip 2ch, V-st in the next ch) across to the last ch (25 V-sts)
Row 2: Beg V-st, V-st in each V-st across, turn

Repeat row 2 until wrap measures 60”, or desired length, do not end off
Measure along the long sides of the wrap,approx 8” from the last row, mark for buttonhole place for the Back, and also approx 12” from the opposite lower side, from the 1st row for the Front

Note: Adjust the markers, depending on your size and preference

Edging:
Rnd 1: Ch1, sc evenly around, working 3sc in each corner, join
Rnd 2: Ch1, sc across to 1st marker, *sc in the next 2sc, turn, ch4, skip 4sc, sl st in the next sc, turn, work 5sc around the ch4-sp*, sc around to next marker (working 3sc at each corner); repeat from * to *, sc around, join, end off

Materials: 4ozs of any 4-ply Soft or Sport yarn   ‘I’ hook   Yarn Needle  

                            (If using worsted weight yarn, use ‘J’ hook)

Size: 5” x 33”

Gauge: 3dc & 2rows=1”

Abbreviations: Ch-chain   sl st-slip stitch   sc-single crochet   dc-double crochet rev sc-reverse single crochet (sc, working from left to right)

Note: Ch2, does not count as a dc

Row 1: Ch 122, dc in the 3rd ch from the hook, and in each ch across, turn (120 dc)

Rows 2-6: Ch2, dc across, turn

Row 7: Ch2, dc across the next 86dc, ch13, skip 13dc, dc across remaining dc, turn

Row 8: Ch2, dc across each dc and ch, turn

Rows 9-12: Ch2, dc across, turn

 

Keyhole Edging:

With right side facing, join yarn to 1st dc of opening, sc around, join end off

Outer Edging:

Skill Level: Easy

 

Size: 7” X 4.5”

 

Materials: 4 ozs of Worsted weight yarn ‘J’ hook Yarn Needle 1Small Button  Stitch Markers

 

Ch17 loosely

Row 1: Working on back ridge of the chain and leaving lps on hook, insert hook in the 2nd ch from the hook, YO, pull up a lp, *insert hook in next ch, YO, pull up a lp*; repeat from * to * across

 

Row 2: YO, pull thru one lp,*YO, pull thru 2lps at a time*; repeat from * to * across

 

Row 3: Leaving lps on the hook,*insert hook under next vertical bar(st), YO, pull a lp*; repeat from * to * to last lp, insert under the last st and the st behind it

 

Repeat Rows 2-3 until you reached 14” (or desired length), ending with Row 2

Note: Make sure you work under those last 2sts at the end of Row 3

 

Dec Row 1: Insert hook under the first 2sts (dec made), then repeat Row 3 until last 3sts, dec, work last st as usual

 

Note: place markers at each end

 

Row 2: Repeat Row 2

Repeat last 2 Rows until 3sts are left, ch8, sl st in 1st ch, end off

 

With right sides facing fold holder in half connect markers to first row. With yarn needle, sew the sides together, turn holder right side out, add button

Abbreviations:

Row 2: Ch2, sc across

Row 3: Ch1, sc in the 1st sc, fptr around the 5th sc post in Row 1, (sc in the next 3sc, work Cluster in both the same sc as the last fptr, and, skipping 3sc, and in the next sc), 2 (3) times, fptr in the same sc of the last Cluster, sc in the last 2sc

Row 4: Repeat Row 2

 Rnd 1: Ch 72, join to first ch to form ring (bottom of cap), ch2, dc in each ch across, join to first dc.

 

 Rnd 2: Ch2, FPdc in next 3dc, *Bpdc in next 4dc, FPdc in next 4dc** around, join to first dc. (18 groups)

 

 Rnd 3: Ch2, Bpdc in next 3dc, *FPdc in next 4dc, Bpdc in next 4dc**around, join.

 

    REPEAT RNDS 2 & 3 FOR PATTERN for 10 rounds total

 

  Rnd 11: Ch2, dec 1dc in each group around (3dc in each group).

  Rnd 12& 13: Repeat rnd 11(1dc in each group).

  Rnds 14 &15: Dec 1dc around (9dc).

Use a J hook and 2 strands of worsted wt. yarn held together. (I used approx. 7 oz of leftover yarn for this hat)
Gauge: 5 sts = 2" and 4 rows = 3"
Chain 3 at the beginning of the round counts as the first dc. Do not turn at the ends of the rows.
Ch 5, join with a sl st to form a ring.

1: Ch 3, work 11 dc in ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (12 dc)

2: Ch 3, dc in same st, work 2 dc in each st around. Join. (24dc)

3: Ch 3, 2 dc in next st, (dc in next st, 2 dc in next st) around Join (36dc)

4: Ch 3, dc in next 2sts, 2 dc in next, (dc in next 3sts, 2dc in next st) around. Join. (48dc)

5: Ch 3, * dc in next 4dc, 2dc in next st** around Join (60dc).

 6- 13: Ch2, dc in each st around, turn.

Brim:

Stitches: ch, sl st, sc, dc, 5dc cluster (*YO, insert hook in next st, YO, pull up a lp, YO, pull thru 2lps** repeat          from * to ** 4 times more, YO, pull thru all 6 lps)

Heart (make 2)    Ch 18 loosely

Rnd 1: 2dc in the 4th ch from the hook (skipped 3chs count as 1dc) and in the next ch, dc in each of the next 3chs, work 5dc cluster, dc in each of the next 3chs, 2dc in next ch, 5dc in the last ch. Working in the free lps on opposite of the foundation chain, 2dc in the next ch, 1dc in each of the next 5chs, 5dc in next ch, 1dc in each of the next 5chs, 2dc in next ch and in the same ch as the 1st ch, join with sl st in top of the ch 3. Joining & Strap

Place hearts together with wrong sides facing.  Working through both pieces, join yarn to the 13th dc from cluster, sc both sides together around heart until you get to the 13th dc before 5dc cluster, sl st in the same st, make a chain (to desired length), sl st in the 1st sc joining made on opposite side.  Turn work and either sl st or sc in each ch of strap; join with a sl st in sc after the ch.

 

Button Loop: Working on the bag opening, sc in each st to cluster, sl st in cluster, ch 10, sl st in the same st, sc around to next cluster, sl st in cluster, sc across to 1st sc, join.  Fasten yarn; weave in ends.  Sew on Button.
